Morrow BioScience
Ltd. provides education programs designed to create awareness
about mosquitoes and preventative and protective measures that children
and their families can take to help prevent themselves from being
bitten.
The presentations are generally directed to students in grades three
to seven and are of approximately half an hour duration. Depending
on the age of the group, the presentations are altered to make sure
that the information is presented at the appropriate level. The visual
aides are portable and presentations can take place within multiple
individual classrooms.
The topics generally consist of an introduction, general facts about
mosquitoes, the life cycle, habitat and natural predators of the mosquito,
followed by mosquitoes as vectors of disease and the West Nile Virus,
the control measures that the municipalities and Morrow BioScience
are taking against West Nile Virus, environmental considerations and
the preventative measures that can be taken by the students at and
around their own homes.
The presentations are interactive and engage the students in discussing
the topics and contributing their own knowledge to the presentation.
Informational handouts are provided for the students to take home
to their parents.
Contact Morrow BioScience Ltd. if you wish to organize
